Persons assisted by the Social Welfare Bureau

Persons assisted by the Social Welfare Bureau in receiving the amount of wealth partaking include:

  • (1) Minors whose guardianship has not been established;
  • (2) Incompetent persons;
  • (3) Persons being deprived of their liberty by rehabilitative measure;
  • (4) Persons being deprived of their liberty by measures or subjected to criminal punishment;
  • (5) Other persons requiring assistance from the Social Welfare Bureau.
If such beneficiaries meet the conditions for receiving the amount of the Wealth Partaking Scheme but not able to receive the wealth partaking amount through bank transfer or cheque, the Social Welfare Bureau will offer assistance and disburse the wealth partaking amount to such beneficiaries in an appropriate way.

In case of any doubt, beneficiaries, caregivers, guardians, legal agents, spouses or relatives may consult the social workers who are responsible for individual cases or enquire the Social Service Centre of the Social Welfare Bureau where their area of residence are situated.
